  • DMSE Presents Wootz Findings

    Students in DMSE’s capstone course 3.042 will present their work on Wootz steel replication on 05.12.15 @ 3pm in the Chipman Room (6-104). Wootz steel orginated in south India in six century BC and is characterized by bands of ultra-high, micro-carbides within a tempered martensite or pearlite matrix.  Image: Detail of Wootz knife.
