Metal Arts Lecture Series

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering's Metal Arts lecture series focuses on artists firmly rooted in craft but actively innovating and pushing their medium and art forward. We want to expose our students to dedicated artists who integrate metallurgical processes and principles seamlessly with their artistic practice.

MIT's motto, mens et manus, translates from Latin as mind and hand and we seek artists that embrace this philosophy. Please see links below to view lectures and demonstrations by our invited artists.
